Welcome to AJ’s R&D Kitchen
Lets get this out of the way real quick. I am not a Chef, I have not gone to culinary school, I have not worked my way through the ranks of fine dining restaurants for years to learn what it takes to run a restaurant and serve high quality food at the highest level that Chefs should be able to do. I am an IT consultant that took way to long to realize what I was meant to do. But through the years of working an office job, I slowly developed a love and appreciation for food and what it takes to craft a memorable meal for whoever wanted to try my cooking. In this day in age, we can find information and content to help teach us whatever we want to learn. So that is what I did. I took a hobby and began to learn and practice and teach myself how to cook. The great thing about cooking is that, unless you want to go broke eating out everyday, at some point you have to learn to do it for yourself. With that came a chance to learn everyday. I got a chance to learn and pick up new skills with every meal I needed to cook to just survive. A passion grew and I wanted more. So for the past 20+ years, I have doing exactly that, learning what I can when I can.
So what led me here? I was looking for an excuse to change my life. I would imagine that even though I had built a life for myself and for my wife, I was meant for something different. I am a first generation born American. I come from immigrant parents who fled a communist country in search of a better life. In many ways, my life is an extension of the success my parents had always wanted for me. It’s hard to ignore what has gotten me to this point, and why I am willing to give it all up for a pipe dream, but what other choice do I have? Sometimes when something calls to you, it calls so loud that eventually it is all you can hear. So this is why I am hear, and this is why you are hear reading this. Somewhere along the way, what I have managed to do is to learn a skill in which all I want to do is share it with whoever wants to experience it. I hope that I can change a little bit of your life with what I have to offer.
